Hello

         About Beautiful Onions

My Story

Beautiful Onions was born out of a season I never expected. I am a breast cancer survivor, and walking through that valley changed me forever. What I thought would break me actually became the beginning of a deeper healing. When the treatments ended, I realized life as I knew it would never be the same. I was left with questions, scars, and a heart that needed a reset.

Then came menopause, with all of its surprises and struggles — hot flashes, brain fog, mood swings, and a body I didn’t always recognize. Those years made me start peeling back the layers of who I thought I was and who I was becoming. In the middle of it all, I found clarity — and discovered that midlife wasn’t the end. It was an invitation to reset and rise again, wiser, stronger, and more faith-filled than ever.

But my story of resilience started long before that. As a young girl, I experienced the deep grief of losing my father and grandfather within the same week. That kind of loss shaped me early. It taught me about pain, grief, and the importance of faith even when life doesn’t make sense.

All of these layers — midlife, grief, cancer, and menopause — shaped the heart behind Beautiful Onions. Some layers brought tears. Some layers brought laughter. But each one brought me closer to faith, hope, clarity, peace and healing. And that’s why this space exists: to remind you that every layer of your story has purpose, and you don’t have to walk this journey alone.

My Experience

I don’t step onto this platform empty-handed. I bring nearly four decades of personal and professional experience that shaped me into the woman I am today.

  •  I hold an accounting degree and spent the first 20 years of my career as an accountant, financial consultant, and advisor in real estate, life insurance, and mortgages.

  •  I worked alongside major corporations in the insurance and financial industries, building a strong foundation in corporate America and understanding firsthand how big systems affect real people.

  • I’ve owned multiple businesses, including our current family-owned company, Midtown Motorworks. My husband Mike and I also manage real estate investments and properties.

  •  I hold a Master’s in STEM Education and spent more than 15 years teaching in the public school system — pouring into the next generation through science, math, engineering, and technology.

  •  I’ve also worked in justice-related fields, seeing the impact of policies and corporate structures on families and communities.

  •  Beyond my career, I’ve walked through decades of family life — raising two daughters, both highly educated with multiple degrees, and now helping raise my two grandsons.

  • I’ve been married to my husband Mike for over 30 years (together 35 years), building a life filled with challenges, faith, and love that continues to grow.

I don’t speak from theory — I speak from lived experience. From grief and cancer survival to corporate boardrooms, classrooms, businesses, and raising a family, I’ve walked the journey, and I bring it all here.
